To clarify my comment slightly: the way you explain cultural appropriation only lists two reasons why it's a problem: 1) people of the appropriating culture profit from it and 2) it spreads misinformation. Which implies that if conditions (1) and (2) aren't present, it isn't a problem, which I don't think is what you mean -- so I invite you to explain further. Does that clarify things at all? :-)
